LEO satellites to offer ‘ virtual fiber network in the sky’ connectivity: Satcom executives
NEW DELHI: The presence of LEO (low earth orbit) satellite systems will be a game changer, especially providing backhaul capabilities which will literally offer a virtual fiber network in the sky, according to executives from global satellite firms.
The synergy between LEO satellite systems and terrestrial mobile operators will lead to an improved customer experience and will undoubtedly create value for the terrestrial mobile operators, said Laura Roberti, Director for Spectrum and Market Access, Telesat, a Canada-based satellite firm.
