KTR urges Centre to hand over phase I of national optical fiber network to T-Fiber

Telangana’s Minister for MAUD, Industries and ITEC, KT Rama Rao has urged the Union Minister for Railways, Communication, Electronics and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw to hand over the phase I of national fiber optic network to the state’s T-Fiber.

KTR called on the Union Minister in New Delhi on Thursday. He also appealed to Vaishnaw to allot Rs 1,200 crore for the project to provide broadband internet connection from gram panchayats to every household in villages. KTR requested for the release of payments as per initial MoU signed with DoT/USOF/BBNL (Department of Telecommunications, Universal Service Obligation fund, Bharat Broadband Network Limited) for implementation of Bharat Net Phase-II project by T-Fiber for connecting gram panchayats.
