Kenya gets $50m BPO investment from CCI Global
Kenya is set to become a business process outsourcing (BPO) hotspot thanks to a $50 million investment from CCI Global.
According to the company, the facility, which was commissioned by Kenyan President William Ruto, is a $50 million investment that would create over 10,000 jobs, doubling CCI Kenya’s workforce.
The company said this development solidifies Kenya’s status as a key hub for BPO sector.
The new five-story skyscraper is located within the 5,000-acre Special Economic Zone in Nairobi. This facility is Kenya’s largest call centre, and it promises to boost the country’s economy by producing new jobs.
Rendeavour’s founder and CEO, Stephen Jennings, stated that CCI’s Tatu City Call Centre contributed significantly to the development of the BPO industry, which is rapidly expanding in local cities and would produce a million employment for Kenyans over the next few years.
“With the right management, technology, international access and enabling ecosystem, Kenyan BPO workers excel on a global scale,” Jennings said.
President Ruto, speaking at the launch, said Kenya was an ideal destination for BPO companies owing to its IT talented, English proficient youthful population and initiatives like the Kenya Digital Superhighway, digital skilling programmes and the country’s supportive policy framework.
“Additionally, Kenya’s strategic location and improving infrastructure make it a compelling choice for investors looking to capitalize on Africa’s growth potential,” Ruto said.
