Kavin Mittal’s Hike eyes mergers and acquisitions for its ‘unbundle’ strategy

NEW DELHI: Home-bred app Hike, which counts Softbank, Tencent, and Foxconn as investors, is looking for merger and acquisitions to execute its new strategy ‘unbundle’ its main app into three standalone apps messaging, gaming and news and video. It has rolled out its first standalone messaging app on Tuesday.

“We are open for M&A for our unbundling strategy. we are open-minded on how to unbundle the platform. we are looking out but haven’t finalised anything yet,” Kavin Mittal, chief executive and founder of Hike, told ET. “At the end of the day, we need to ensure that we have a great set of people to build great products.”
