Kaspersky predicts top cybercrime trends for 2020
MUMBAI: A report by cybersecurity provider Kasperksy forecasts the major risks and attacks to organizations and internet users in 2020. Among the key targets of cybercriminals in the coming year could be Facebook’s private cryptocurrency project ‘Libra’, bank accounts and financial investment applications installed on phones according to a report by Yury Namestnikov, Director of Global Research and Analysis Team (GReAT), Russia at Kaspersky.
“Given the serious surge in cybercriminal activity during the rapid growth of Bitcoin and altcoins in 2018, we predict that a similar situation will most likely unfold around Gram and Libra. Large players in this market should be especially careful, as there are a number of APT groups, such as WildNeutron and Lazarus, whose interests include crypto assets. They are very likely to exploit these developments,” he said.
