Karti’s assets attached in INX Media case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached four properties (three movable and one immovable property located at Coorg district, Karnataka) valued at 11.04 crore belonging to Congress MP and son of former Union Minister P Chidambaram, and others in the INX Media Pvt Ltd case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

PMLA proceedings were initiated against Karti Chidambaram, Advantage Strategic Consulting Pvt Ltd (ASCPL), and others by the ED by recording an enforcement case information report (ECIR) (equivalent to FIR in police parlance) on the basis of an FIR registered by the CBI for commission of offences punishable under various sections of the IPC and Prevention of Corruption Act.
