Karnataka HC defers order in petition filed by Twitter India

The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday deferred the pronouncement of its order in a petition filed by Twitter India managing director Manish Maheshwari, challenging a notice issued to him by the Uttar Pradesh Police summoning him for questioning, to Thursday.

A single judge bench of Justice G Narendar, which had last week said it will pass an order on Tuesday, said he would do so on Thursday at 2:30 pm.

Maheshwari has challenged the jurisdiction of the UP Police in issuing a notice to appear before the investigating officer under Section 41(A) of the Indian Penal Code in a case relating to a video showing an attack on an elderly man in Ghaziabad that went viral on the microblogging platform.
