JioPhone users have started getting JioPay for UPI-based payments

JioPhone users have reportedly started receiving JioPay with Unified Payments Interface (UPI) support. Currently available only to select users, JioPay was reportedly being internally tested for over a year and has started being rolled out to some JioPhones, about 1,000 of them, on August 15.

Previous reports suggest that Jio has been working with National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to enable proprietary payments on the 4G phone with smart features, the JioPhone, that launched in July 2017.

According to the screenshots shared by BGR India, the JioPay app on the JioPhone offers features like Tap & Pay, Send Money, Recharge and Accounts. There is also an option for users to view their payment history.
