JioPhone Next smartphone unlikely to cause any disruption due to high price, say analysts

JioPhone Next, the 4G smartphone jointly developed by Jio and Google, will be available in stores from Diwali and will be priced at Rs6499. The device will also be available for an upfront payment of Rs1,999 and the rest to be paid via easy monthly instalments over 18 or 24 months.

In a statement Friday, the companies said that the device will be “the most affordable smartphone anywhere in the world”.
