JioFiber progress slower due to pandemic, still has added over 2 mn user last FY: Mukesh Ambani
Reliance Jio’s fiber connectivity has expanded its footprint across 12 million homes and business premises, despite slower rollouts, making Jio the largest and fastest growing fixed broadband operator in India, Chairman Mukesh Ambani said.
“Across the world, the past 15 months have been challenging for on-the-ground physical work. Jio Fiber, Jio’s optical fiber-based, gigabit speed, fixed broadband services has also faced similar challenges. The pace of optical fiber deployment, building-connectivity and home-installations have all been slower than expected because of lockdowns and other restrictions across our country,” Ambani said during the 44th annual general meeting of Reliance Industries Limited NSE -2.35 % on Thursday.
