Jio trials HD virtual reality meeting using homegrown 5G NR and 5G core

Reliance Jio said it has trialed immersive high-definition virtual reality (VR) meeting using its indigenously developed 5G NR radio and 5G core network (5GCN).

The trial also leveraged both enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) and 5G’s low-latency capabilities.

5G’s high speed and low latency characteristics allow augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR), smart factories, Industry 4.0, 5G smart cities, improved surveillance among others.
