Jio to be a competitive satcom player in India; USOF must be used for 2G to 4G handset transition: Mathew Oommen, Prez

NEW DELHI: A top Reliance Jio executive said the spectrum allocation process and policy for satcom or satellite-based communications should be the same as for terrestrial networks in India since they are essentially the same service delivered to the same device and customers.

The executive also said satellite-based communication would co-exist with 5G and 6G technologies in India, adding that Jio will be a competitive player in the satcom space.
