Jio says investment cycle is over; VoLTE voice traffic extends lead over 2G/3G voice networks

Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio said that its investment cycle is now over with mobility coverage reaching 99% of India’s population.

In a statement, Jio said that its VoLTE network has seen yearly growth of 52% in daily voice traffic and is extending its lead over legacy 2G/3G voice networks in India.

There has been a recent spat between Jio on one hand and older incumbents such as Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea on the other hand since the former wanted to abolish Interconnection Usage Charge (IUC), a fee paid to recipient operator by a call originator network.
