Jio ropes in former Disney+ Hotstar executive Gulshan Verma as chief executive of JioAds: Report

NEW DELHI: Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio has roped in Gulshan Verma, the former SVP & Head, Advertising of Disney+ Hotstar as the chief executive of its JioAds, as it seeks to rapidly scale up the digital advertising business, Exchange4Media reported on Thursday.

The telecom company with 315 million subscribers is building an ad platform since it has a significant amount of customer data, the online publication said citing a source.

However, JioAds’ offerings will be static and not video, the source further told the publication.
