Jio revenue market share in Jan-Mar quarter falls sequentially

Kolkata: Reliance Jio Infocomm has reported a sequential dip in its revenue market share (RMS) in the March quarter, with scarcely any impact of the tariff hikes it took last December coupled with flattish revenue growth from national long distance (NLD) services.

Mukesh Ambani-led Jio’s March quarter RMS fell 139 bps on-quarter to 34.7% as most of its customers were still on longer duration packs in the fiscal fourth quarter, FY20, financial data collated by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) showed.

Bharti Airtel’s RMS too fell 66 bps on-quarter to 30.9%, stung by a sharp fall in NLD revenues but Vodafone Idea’s gained 110 bps to 27.8%, helped by strong revenue growth in its leadership circles.
