Jio launches wired home broadband with 100 Mbps speed, starting at Rs 699

MUMBAI: Reliance Jio Infocomm (Jio) has commercially launched its much-awaited wired home broadband services, with free local voice calling and high-speed Internet which is at least four times faster than the current average in India, with plans starting at Rs 699, a move that will offer more choice to consumers in a highly-underpenetrated segment in the country.

The Mukesh Ambani-led oil to telecom company’s broadband service comes at a tenth of global rates, with plans ranging from Rs699 to Rs8,499 a month with speeds from upto 100 Mbps to 1 Gbps, and bundles in services such as gaming, home network sharing, device security, TV video calling and conferencing, besides access to a content platform, among others.
