TOKYO: Japan’s ruling party plans to start considering a possible sale of the government’s stake in Nippon Telegraph and Telephone to help finance defence spending, the Nikkei business daily quoted a senior party official as saying on Tuesday.
The former telecoms monopoly was privatised in 1985, but the government still owns a one-third stake in NTT.
