It’s an early festive start for consumer electronics, smartphones

Top manufacturers of smartphones and consumer electronic goods such as LG, Sony, Xiaomi, Vivo, Realme and Panasonic are advancing festive season production plans by a month, and will lift output to last year’s levels or even more.

Senior executives of these companies said the acceleration in scaling up is due to high demand in the past two months exceeding expectations, and to build up inventory, considering localised lockdowns are likely to continue in some areas, affecting plant operations.
