IT research firm Gartner predicts chip sales to further slow down in 2022

IT research firm Gartner said that it expects global semiconductor sales growth to slow down in 2022 and fall 2.5 percent next year, hurt by weak sales of mobile phones and personal computers.

It forecast global semiconductor revenue to grow 7.4 percent in 2022 to $639.2 billion, down from its previous view of 13.6 percent growth, and compared with growth of 26.3 percent last year.
