iPhone users may get to try apps before installing them
NEW DELHI: Apple is said to launch a feature on iOS 14 which will enable iPhone users to first try apps and then install them later. As reported by 9to5Mac, a code from iOS 14 revealed a new API called Clips, which will enable apps to provide “interactive and dynamic content” before they are installed on an iPhone.
The Clips API is expected to be linked to a QR code reader, which is said to scan the codes which will then launch the app on a card. The app developers will have the right to select the part of their app which they want to show up on a card. The card will also consist of an option of downloading the full version of the app.
The Cupertino-based tech giant is said to test this new feature with various apps which include OpenTable, DoorDas, YouTube, Yelp and others. It is also said that the company will explain more about the feature at its digital-only annual developer conference WWDC 2020.
