iPhone maker Pegatron likely to establish manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu: Report

NEW DELHI: Apple’s second largest contract manufacturer, Pegatron, is likely to establish its manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu, CNBC TV18 reported on Wednesday.

The Tamil Nadu government is likely to offer subsidies on capital, interests and land lease costs besides offering single window clearance to attract Pegatron to the state, the report said.

Apple is already making iPhones in Tamil Nadu through its contract manufacturing partner Foxconn.

Pegatron has already begun its India operations with the appointment of statutory auditors and transfer of Rs 99 lakh for an initial subscription of equity shares, ET recently reported.The move is a precursor for the Taiwanese electronics maker to set up a manufacturing base in India.
