Instagram users have a new option to send Direct Message to their friends

Instagram users, now you can send a Direct Message to your friends without the photo-sharing app. This is because the Facebook-owned company has rolled out the support for Direct Message via website.
This was officially confirmed by the official Twitter account from Instagram. “*Sliding into your DMs* Now you can get and send Instagram Direct messages on desktop, no matter where you are in the world,” reads the tweet.
The feature has been in the making since a long time now and does come as a convenience for those users who do scroll through their Instagram feed on their laptops or PC.
The DM feature on the web is similar to the one already existing on Instagram’s mobile app. Instagram web users can start a new chat or create new groups by accessing the direct messages. One can also double-tap a message to like a message, check ‘seen’ status of the messages and share photos as well. In addition, users can receive DM notifications on desktop after the notifications from Instagram are enabled.
