Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently announced that Instagram users will now be able to add up to 5 links to their bio. With the latest update, Instagram is taking on third-party link-in bio solutions like Linktree and Beacons.

Announced by Zuckerberg on his Instagram broadcast channel, Meta CEO said that this was one of the most requested features of all time.

The reason why services like LinkTree have thrived in the last couple of years is that apps like Instagram and TikTok have restricted users from adding links to other websites because they think it might redirect users to rival websites.
