Instagram has started hiding its key feature for some users

Facebook’s photo-sharing app Instagram earlier this year started testing a new feature wherein it would hide the number of likes on a single post from users. However, it did let the account holder see who all have liked it. This was for both images and videos. But Instagram didn’t reveal ever since on how the test went and what was its future. Now, after several months the company has decided to expand the ‘test’ to several million users across six new countries.
The feature that showed up in Canada earlier this year, will now be reaching Ireland, Italy, Japan, Brazil, Australia and New Zealand. As reported by TechCrunch, Instagram has started hiding the number of likes in photo and video posts as it wants you to focus more on the content than the number of likes it has received. Essentially, Instagram doesn’t want you to measure the success of photo and video posts based on likes and also put others under pressure for not receiving enough traction.
