InGovern seeks fresh investigation by CCI on Amazon, Flipkart

Proxy advisory firm InGovern Research Services has written to the finance ministry and the Competition Commission of India (CCI) raising concerns of breach of trust against e-commerce majors Flipkart and Amazon.

Further, InGovern also recommended initiating a fresh investigation into this anti-trust issue and taking “appropriate measures” to address any aberrations at the CCI.

InGovern has raised concerns around the hiring of a former CCI member – Anku Sharma – by Flipkart in March 2023. Sharma, a former key member of the CCI team responsible for investigating Flipkart, joined Flipkart-Walmart as an antitrust subject matter expert in March 2023.
