Infratel-Indus merger gives Vodafone Group, Airtel option to monetise stakes

Kolkata: Bharti Infratel’s merger with Indus Towers paves the way for anchor operators, Bharti Airtel and UK’s Vodafone Plc to monetise their stakes in the combined towers entity, said analysts.

The deal, they said, specifically provides a path for the British telco to sell its 28.2% stake in the merged towers entity and use the proceeds to recapitalise debt-laden Vodafone Idea.
