Infosys inks deal to acquire chip design firm InSemi

Infosys on Thursday said it will acquire semiconductor design and embedded services provider InSemi for an undisclosed amount.

The acquisition is expected to conclude in the current quarter, India’s second-largest IT company said in a statement.

It will strengthen Infosys’ engineering R&D capabilities and help provide comprehensive end-to-end product development for clients as semiconductors are a key piece in the technology driving growth in AI (artificial intelligence), 5G, quantum technology, internet of things (IoT), smart devices, and other technologies, the company said.
