India’s Top 5 IT firms nearly matched FY21 hiring numbers in H1 FY22

Mumbai | Pune: India’s Top 5 IT firms nearly matched last year’s hiring numbers in the first six months of the ongoing financial year.

Tata Consultancy Services NSE -0.51 % (TCS), Infosys NSE -0.62 %, Wipro NSE -0.91 %, HCL Technologies NSE -0.73 % and Tech Mahindra NSE -0.28 % added 122,546 employees in April-September 2021. That compares with an estimated 138,000 hires in the fiscal ended March 31, 2021, according to Nasscom data. These five companies added a net 68,894 employees in the recently-concluded September quarter, compared with 17,918 in the same period last year.
