India’s esports industry set to quadruple in size by 2025: EY report

Pune: India’s esports industry is set to quadruple in size to Rs 1,100 crore by 2025 from Rs 250 crore at present—clocking a compounded annual growth rate of 46%, according to an EY report.

The prize pool is expected to reach Rs 100 crore by 2025, the report, titled ‘Ready.Set.Game ON!’, stated.

Esports is defined by online games of skill that are played in tournaments where different teams or individual players compete against each other to win the championship, league or title—like physical sports.
