India’s ‘baffling’ semiconductor sector may employ 3 lakh in next 3 years: HR firm

NEW DELHI: India’s semiconductor industry continues to be at sea, and despite that the sector is likely to employ as many as 3 lakh individuals in the next three years on the back of entre’s prestigious Atmanirbharta (self reliance) initiative, a human resources services company said.

“The semiconductor industry continues to baffle with lack of basic concepts of electronics, embedded systems and programming. But, it will generate more than 3 lakh jobs by 2026, encompassing a wide range of roles, including in testing, engineering, software development, system circuit, validation, operations, and more,” Munira Loliwala, AVP – Strategy and Growth at TeamLease Digital told ETTelecom.
