Indian web browser challenge: Price money, features and all the other details

It seems that India will soon get a web browser of its own. The Ministry of Electronics and IT has started an Indian Web Browser Development Challenge in New Delhi. Through this fresh undertaking, the ministry’s objective is to develop a homegrown web browser for worldwide utilization, complete with an incorporated Controller of Certifying Authorities (CCA) India root certificate.

Indian Web Browser Development Challenge: Details

As part of the challenge the government has announced a cash prize of Rs 3.4 crores for the developers. The complete challenge is divided into three stages. Stage one is Ideation which has a duration of 2 months and it will offer 18 prizes worth Rs 2 lakhs each.
