India will be ‘especially significant’ for driving ongoing 5G adoption in APAC: GSMA

NEW DELHI: India, which started rolling out 5G networks from October 2022, will be especially significant for driving the ongoing adoption of fifth-generation services in the Asia Pacific region, said GSMA.

“Growth will also come from key markets within APAC and LATAM, such as Brazil and India, which have recently launched 5G networks. India will be especially significant, with the expansion of services from Airtel and Jio in 2023 expected to be pivotal to the region’s ongoing adoption,” the London-based telco body said in a statement.
