India to play a leading role in R&D: Tarun Kapoor
NEW DELHI: The government is keen to promote indigenous research and development (R&D) activities with increased funding so that the country can play a leading role worldwide, a top official Tuesday said.
“The government is now very keen that India plays a leading role in R&D including in the second-stage, and therefore funding from the government is going up tremendously. So, we already announced a few programs. We are looking forward to major partnerships between the government institutions, academic institutions and the industry,” Tarun Kapoor, advisor to the Prime Minister Office (PMO) said.
