India to have 350 million 5G subscriptions by 2026: Ericsson
NEW DELHI: Swedish telecom gear maker Ericsson said that India will have 350 million 5G subscriptions by 2026, accounting for 27 percent of all mobile subscriptions.
The findings come at a time when the government plans to hold a 4G airwaves sale in early-2021, which may be followed by a sale of 5G airwaves later next year.
Ahead of the next spectrum sale, the Big 3 telcos, Reliance Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) are known to be working on the development of locally-relevant 5G use cases are technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), and Internet of Things (IoT).
