India smartphone market down 3% in Q3, Xiaomi regains market share: Canalys

NEW DELHI: Smartphone shipments in India fell 3% year-over-year to 43 million units in Q3 2023, as the market moves towards gradual recovery, said Canalys in its latest report released Thursday.

Samsung maintained its leadership position with a market share (by volume) of 18%, while Xiaomi regained the second rank in the market with a share of 18% primarily driven by the launch of its affordable 5G phones. Vivo slipped to the third position and held a market share of 17%, followed by Realme (13%), and Oppo (10%), respectively.
