India needs to update laws, infrastructure for 5G entry, says Huawei chief
SHENZEN: India needs to update its laws and regulations as well as the infrastructure for telecommunications to facilitate the adoption of 5G technology, Huawei Technologies’ chief executive officer Ren Zhengfei, said.
“India has to think what kind of laws and regulations they want to put in place,” Ren said in reply to a question from TOI during a roundtable organised at the company’s headquarters in the south Chinese city of Shenzhen.
Huawei, a leading player in high-speed 5G technology for mobile data, has been trying to persuade the government to adapt its system. India, which is one of world’s major 5G markets, has allowed the company to conduct field trials for 5G but it has not yet taken a final decision.
