India moving fast on hybrid cloud adoption: IBM

India is moving faster than other countries when it comes to hybrid cloud adoption, said Jason Jameson, vice president, IBM Public Cloud, Asia Pacific. In India, the number of industries that are driving the focus on cloud is a lot broader, he said, going beyond banking and financial services to automobile, manufacturing and telecom companies.

IBM is betting big on hybrid cloud to drive the next wave of growth, bolstered in large part by its acquisition of Red Hat a few years ago and India is an important geography. The first wave of workloads that moved to cloud – about 20% — was more quick and easy cloud native development. “The 80% that is remaining is when the harder stuff starts and this is where India is really starting to breach the chasm,” said Jameson.
