India likely to add 150k jobs this year in phone manufacturing
Up to 150,000 new jobs in mobile manufacturing are expected to be created in the country this fiscal as leading companies ‘scout’ for manpower to meet their current requirements and expansion plans.
Top handset manufacturers and makers of associated devices are planning large-scale hiring in the country, driven by the global shift to manufacture beyond China and the Indian government’s production-linked incentives (PLI) scheme, according to staffing companies including TeamLease, Randstad, Quess and Ciel HR Services.
