India lags peers in tech skills: Coursera study

BENGALURU: India lags global counterparts in technology skillsets in sectors as varied as telecom, healthcare, manufacturing and automotive, according to a report by Silicon Valley-based e-learning firm Coursera.

Insurance, healthcare and telecom also lag in skillsets across domains, including business and technology, and data science, insights from the ‘Global Skills Index: 2019’ report showed. However, sectors such as consumer and consulting are equipped with better skillsets, Coursera found.
