India as Electronics Hub

The government has cleared three schemes involving a total incentive of around Rs 48,000 crore to boost electronics manufacturing in the country. The schemes are expected to generate manufacturing revenue potential of Rs 10 lakh crore and create direct and indirect jobs for 20 lakh people by 2025.

The approved schemes are: 1) Production Linked Incentive Scheme (PLI) for Large Scale Electronics Manufacturing, 2) Modified Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (EMC 2.0) Scheme, and 3) Scheme for Promotion of manufacturing of Electronic Components and Semiconductors (SPECS).
