New Delhi: In a relief to telcos, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) has opposed the telecom department’s contention and reiterated that incremental spectrum usage charge (SUC) of 0.5% levied on telcos for sharing spectrum, should be applied on the specific shared bands only and not on the entire spectrum holdings of a telecom operator.
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) in January had asked Trai to reconsider its 2020 recommendations on the subject.
