IN-SPACe’ space tech course takes off at two IITs

BENGALURU: IIT Madras and IIT Bombay have begun to offer space technology courses, thanks to the efforts made by IN-SPACe, the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre. A minor course on space technology has already started at IITM, while the same would start at IITB from the next semester.

“These courses are for people who have already enrolled at these institutions. At IITM, there were 75 applications for a class of 60 when the entries closed, while IITB has got the nod to start the course from July,” said Vinod Kumar, director of promotions at IN-SPACe. The independent nodal space agency is now working on rolling out space courses across more institutions. The TOI was the first to report about IN-SPACe’s plans to start space courses in June last year.
