Important for Voda Idea to survive for investments, jobs, reputation: Bharti Airtel CEO Gopal Vittal

Bharti AirtelNSE 2.84 % chief executive Gopal Vittal said it’s critical for struggling Vodafone IdeaNSE 0.95 % to survive and for India to remain a three-private player market, which would boost investments, prevent job losses and salvage the reputation of the industry.

He also said telco ARPUs (average revenue per user) need to hit the Rs 300 level for a sector – bruised by three years of brutal price wars — to stabilise and grow.
