Identity verification firm Socure opens Chennai development facility

Socure Inc, a US-based provider of identity verification and fraud prevention services, on Monday opened a development centre in the city.

The centre will not be just an offshore facility but will be involved in the entire Software Development Life Cycle right from strategy to product specification, and the final product.

The centre now has 15 employees, with plans to double the number by the year-end, said Tom Thimot, CEO, Socure.

On why the company chose Chennai, Thimot said it was due to the availability of talent, particularly data scientists, and the low attrition rate when compared with nearly 50 per cent in places such as Bengaluru or Gurugram.
