IAMAI wants a say in framing of OTT streaming guidelines in India
Mumbai: A leading industry association of digital content makers and internet companies on Wednesday expressed disappointment over the government’s approach towards framing content guidelines for over-the-top sector without consulting it.
Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI)—which had come up with a self-regulatory framework with a two-tier structure in September last year—said it was dismayed after reading media reports stating that the government intends to notify guidelines for OTT streaming platforms shortly.
“IAMAI is surprised to be not consulted on the draft guidelines for the online curated content platforms (OCCPs) that are being quoted in the media,” it said in a statement.
