Huawei’s answer to iPhone 11 Pro will have Android but no Google
Amid the ongoing issue between Google and Huawei, the latter has confirmed that that it is going to launch its next flagship smartphone, Huawei P40, in Paris at the end of March 2020. This was confirmed by Huawei consumer group CEO Richard Yu to French news website Frandroid.
The company has been following a dual flagship launch model — just like Samsung and OnePlus — where it launches a flagship smartphone in first half of the year under its P-series and a second flagship smartphone in the second half in its Mate series. The Huawei P30 and P30 Pro were launched in the first week of April this year therefore its successor coming in March is adhering to Hauwei’s launch cycle.
Along with the confirmation of the launch, Yu also said that the P40 will run on Google’s latest operating system — Android 10 — but will not offer Google Mobile Services (GMS). It has been known that Huawei is working on the alternative Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) that are expected to be the part of future Huawei phones.
