Huawei to unveil new foldable phone on February 22

Chinese smartphone maker Huawei is planning to launch its next foldable device on February 22. The company revealed the name of the upcoming smartphone and the date of its debut through a post on Weibo.
The new foldable phone is named the Mate X2 and will be unveiled at an event in China on February 22. The device folds inward, unlike the Mate X and the Mate Xs, Huawei’s other two foldable phones that have been launched to date.
According to leaks, the Mate X2 is expected to sport an 8.01-inch primary display and a 6.45-inch secondary display. The device is rumoured to be powered by a 5nm Kirin 9000 chipset and run Android 10-based EMUI 11. In the camera segment, the phone is rumoured to have a quad-camera setup with a 50MP main sensor and a 16MP selfie camera. The phone will support 5G and is expected to be backed by a 4400mAh battery. The phone is said to come with a 66W charger.
Huawei had priced the Mate Xs foldable smartphone for 2499 euros (approximately Rs 1,95,245) which made it the most expensive smartphone in the market upon launch. The Huawei Mate Xs features a 6.6-inch OLED display with 1148×2480 pixel resolution when folded, a 6.38-inch OLED display with 892×2480 pixel resolution at the back and an 8-inch OLED display with 2200×2480 pixel resolution when unfolded. The smartphone is powered by Huawei’s flagship processor — Kirin 990 and comes with 5G support.
