Huawei India: 2019 a challenging year for everyone due to reduced telco capex

NEW DELHI: Chinese telecom gear maker Huawei said that 2019 has been a challenging year for the company as well as all other telecom gear makers due to reduced capital expenditure (capex) by the Indian telecom operators’ capital expenditure resulting from the ongoing financial stress.

“This is a very challenging year in the industry. Not only for Huawei but almost all OEM and telcos are facing a very big challenge. We hope the situation can become positive. We are waiting for that,” Jay Chen, Huawei India chief executive officer, told ET.
