HP plans to place global leadership in Karnataka: Govt
The Karnataka government on Thursday claimed that US tech multinational HP is considering placing its global leadership in the southern state, recognising it as the hub for a majority of its value-addition.
About 60% of HP’s IT department is based in Bengaluru, where a fifth of the company’s global workforce is located, a government statement said.
Officials from the US-based multinational met state industries minister MB Patil at Davos on Thursday. HP has about 8,000 people in Karnataka, out of its 15,000 employees in India.
