How to check FASTag balance using Google Pay, PhonePe and Paytm

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways launched FASTag, a new system to avoid queues at the toll plazas in 2016.

For the uninitiated, FASTag is an electronic toll collection system taht makes it easier for travellers to pay toll taxes at the toll plazas and also keeps a tab on vehicles that cross over highways very speedily as it automatically deducts the toll amount from the account.

The FASTag program is based on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) which collects toll tax payments on the road. It is a tag attached to the vehicle’s windscreen and linked to a bank account or a prepaid card.
